Every year, Tripadvisor releases Travellers’ Choice Awards for Destinations – The best of the best destinations on its platform. The popular travel site announces the world’s top destinations on Wednesday, revealing that Dubai has surpassed London to become the most popular vacation destination for 2022. The rankings are based on the quality and quantity of reviews on Tripadvisor. And then on reviews for hotels, restaurants, and things to do.
Dubai had to beat off strong competition including not only London, but also Cancun, Bali, Rome, and Paris.
“Destination that mixes modern culture with history, adventure with world-class shopping and entertainment. Catch a show at the Dubai Opera, see downtown from atop the Burj Khalifa and spend an afternoon along Dubai Creek exploring the gold, textile, and spice souks. If you’re looking for thrills, you can float above the desert dunes in a hot air balloon, climb aboard a high-speed ride at IMG Worlds of Adventure or skydive over the Palm Jumeirah.” Tripadvisor described the city.
Dubai becomes the highest-rated and most-loved spot on earth. Justin Reid, director of media, destinations, and travel at Tripadvisor, told media portals, “Dubai has been rising in the ranks of Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards over the past few years, and now in 2022 takes the crown of the number one most popular destination in the world.”
An ultramodern city, Dubai has it all: golden beaches, world-class dining, and gorgeous hotels. Further adding that being ranked by travelers all over the world as the best implies that Dubai obtained stellar traveler reviews across all of its tourism sectors.
The tourism sector took a major hit across continents due to travel restrictions imposed in the wake of the pandemic since the outbreak of coronavirus. Dubai, however, managed to attract visitors from all the parts of the world in the last year, and “stood out as their favorite place to go in a year when they really needed some excitement.”
Dubai's high COVID-19 vaccination rates are at 99% of the population, with PCRs, required every 72 or 48 hours to enter and take part in almost any sort of activity - tests that are cheap to do in Dubai.
Dubai welcomed 4,880,000 visitors from January to October 2021. (ANSA).
