Are you planning a trip to Dubai? From the iconic Burj Khalifa to the thrilling adventures you can experience in the desert, Dubai is the perfect place to explore and have fun. This blog will give you an inside look at the 11 best places to visit in this fantastic city. You can visit popular attractions, go shopping at malls, take a camel trekking in the desert, explore theme parks, and experience the nightlife. Read on.
Burj Khalifa
Visiting the Burj Khalifa offers two stunning views - Sunrise and Sunset. While the day view is not as impressive, the sunset has a bonus - you can watch the Dubai Fountain show from the top! Tickets for the 124 and 125 levels cost between AED 149 and AED 224, depending on the time, and the 148 level costs AED 370 (which includes access to the 124 and 125 levels too). The Sunrise view is AED 149 and includes a light breakfast of croissant and juice/coffee at the ground floor cafe.
To get to the 'At the Top' ticket counter, you'll need to enter the Dubai Mall at the Fashion Avenue car park on level 7 and take the lift down. Make sure to arrive in advance, as it can be confusing if you don't know where to go. Watching the night turn into the day is a mesmerizing experience, and getting up early to wait for the sun to rise is worth it. The best spot to view the sunrise is from the 124 level. Note that you don't need to show any proof when presenting your online ticket.
The Dubai Fountain
A visit to Dubai isn't complete without experiencing the Dubai Fountain show, which takes place outside Dubai Mall beneath the Burj Khalifa. During the day, there is an hourly show beginning at 1:30 p.m. From 6 pm, the show takes place every 30 minutes. It's free to attend, making it a popular attraction, and can become quite crowded. To find some space, take a short walk around the water.
Alternatively, you can get closer to the action on the floating pontoon or one of the boats. Fees are applicable for these options. Each show features a unique mix of music and choreography, so don't miss out on the chance to watch more than one performance. Afterward, you can enjoy a spectacular LED light show on the Burj Khalifa.
Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark
Visiting Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark is an excellent decision. At the world's largest waterpark, there's something for everyone. Brave the Odyssey of Terror, the world's tallest waterslide; experience the thrill of weightlessness on Zoomerango's vertical wall; and take a thrilling tube ride through a shark-filled underwater lagoon on Shark Attack. Show off your surf skills in the surf area, take a leap of faith at Immortal Falls, and let the kids run wild at the Splashers Kids' Play Area.
We suggest wearing water shoes around the park as the floor can get hot, and these can be found online or purchased in the park. When arriving at the car park, there is a shuttle bus which takes 5 minutes to get to the water park entrance - although it's not clear where it collects from, it's generally near the coach parking area. A normal-sized locker is big enough for a group of four's clothing and shoes. The park is very clean and well-kept, and some tickets may allow you to enter the aquarium too.
AURA SKYPOOL
At AURA SKYPOOL, you can experience the unique sensation of being suspended 200 meters in the air, with a 360-degree 'infinity pool' offering an incredible view of the Dubai skyline, Palm Jumeirah, and the Arabian Gulf. It is truly a sight to behold and an unmissable opportunity to capture the essence of Dubai at new heights.
It's an understatement to say that it's worth it; if you want to feel like you're daydreaming, this is the place for you. The view is breathtaking and the DJ plays the perfect songs to set the mood when the sun sets, sending you into a state of goosebumps. The service is unbeatable, so we recommend visiting between 5 pm - 8 pm. For the ultimate experience, book the front-row sunbeds with the palm view - you won't regret it.
Ski Dubai
Visiting Ski Dubai is a great way to enjoy quality time with your family. For the best experience, you should go for the Snow Premium package, which gives you a full day's access to the snow park and the ski slope. At the snow park, you can engage in a variety of activities such as bobsledding, zorbing, tubing, and chairlift rides. Additionally, you can even go to the penguin encounter area for a unique experience. The package also includes the rental of all necessary skiing and clothing gear, as well as gloves, a meal, and hot chocolate.
To make the most out of your time, we recommend that you bring a hat and a scarf if you plan to spend most of your time in the snow park. However, if you are spending most of the time skiing, then you won't need any extra layers. Keep in mind that the queues at Ski Dubai can be quite long, especially during Ramadan or the weekends, so be prepared to wait. All in all, Ski Dubai is an incredible place to have a winter day experience at an affordable price.
Jumeirah Mosque
Visiting the Jumeirah Mosque in Dubai is an incredible experience that everyone should have. The staff gives informative presentations about the mosque's history and Islam and its day-to-day practice in Dubai. There's a great Q&A session at the end, and we recommend staying behind after the talk to fully soak up the beauty of the building. The mosque's program is designed to promote understanding, and the team is doing an outstanding job. You might even have the chance to interact with a beautiful bird of prey!
For the small entry fee, you get an incredible experience. Make sure to wear appropriate clothing and bring a headscarf, although traditional dress is available to those who don't have it. Tours are now available at 10 am and 2 pm, so you have another chance if you miss the first one. Make sure you check the website before you go.
Meydan Racecourse
Meydan Racecourse offers many lounge options to choose from. The entry is smooth and welcoming and there are lots of staff members ready to direct visitors to the right entrances. The outside of the racecourse is impressive and the view of downtown Dubai is beautiful, so it is worth getting there early to take some photos. The entrance and main lobby are incredible and you have the opportunity to get professional photographs taken. Although it costs 200 dirhams for the printed photo, it is presented in a nice box with it framed.
There is a great view of the track, paddock, and finish line, as well as sliding door access to the grandstand balcony. The food is excellent for a racecourse and it is served precisely when desired, allowing visitors to not miss any of the races. The staff are friendly and attentive even after the last race ends. Since it is the build-up to the Dubai World Cup, the hospitality prices are more than reasonable and the same or less than the UK tracks.
Palm Islands
Palm Dubai is a popular destination for tourists, offering a wide array of luxurious hotels, residences, and leisure experiences. Visitors can take a monorail ride from the base of the Palm to the iconic Atlantis Hotel at the far end, with a stop at the recently opened Nakheel Mall in the middle. The Pointe, a new addition to The Palm, offers a variety of dining options, a fountain show, and stunning views of the Atlantis.
The Atlantis is home to a huge aquarium, an array of world-class restaurants, and an amazing water park with an optional dolphin encounter. Tourists can also get aerial views of Dubai from the hotel by taking a helicopter tour. The crescent of the Palm features a large walkway, perfect for an afternoon workout with breathtaking views of the city. The Palm Dubai is a must-visit for any tourist spending a few days in Dubai.
Pier 7
Situated on the seventh floor of Marina Bay, Pier 7 is a must-visit restaurant in Dubai. The decor is splendid, and the views of the Marina from the outdoor dining area are breathtaking. The food is truly remarkable, making it an unforgettable dining experience. As the sun sets, the Marina glows with an enchanting hue, creating a truly magical atmosphere.
Pier 7 also offers an opportunity to mingle with locals and others from all around the world. An unforgettable experience awaits at Pier 7 in Marina Bay. Don't miss out on this incredible experience when you're in Marina Bay.
Dubai Opera
Your tour of the Dubai Opera District starts with a look into its past and an introduction to the concept behind the building. Your guide will show you not only the inside of the Opera House but also the exterior and the surrounding area. Once inside you'll be able to explore all the different areas of the Dubai Opera, including the boxes that are usually reserved for the Royal Family.
While inside you'll be able to take in the stunning view of the Dubai Opera Garden and Emaar Properties. Your guide will certainly be worth admiring too! For added convenience, there is a sofa located near every entrance gate of the Opera House.
The Camel Farm
A camel ride in Dubai is a must-do experience for anyone visiting the city and we highly recommend it. Booking your visit is easy, as the owner responds quickly to any inquiries via WhatsApp. Detailed directions, including pictures, are provided to help you find the farm, which is accessible by passenger car but off-road vehicles are advised to avoid getting stuck in the sand. Parking is free and plentiful.
On arrival, you will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of cold, fresh camel milk - surprisingly delicious! For those not participating in the ride, there is a tent where they can rest while the riders explore the farm. Admission to the farm includes a private tour and the opportunity to feed the animals, such as deer, camels, donkeys, rabbits, and birds.
You can book camel rides of various lengths, a 30-minute ride costs 100 dirhams. The camels are healthy and well-trained, and the saddle is made of blankets rather than the usual tourist style. The owner will show you where to place your phone at the front of the saddle and explain the details of the ride.
Before you go, make sure to bring cash to pay at the farm, as admission is required in addition to the ride fee (which is very reasonable). We recommend that you wear long pants and sunglasses, and dress comfortably for the ride.
Conclusion:
To wrap it up, Dubai is a great city to visit. With its beautiful beaches, stunning architecture, and a wide array of activities, there's something for everyone to experience.
