Dubai South: City of You, Centre of Tomorrow

Dubai South, formerly branded as Dubai World Central, is one of Dubai most exciting upcoming projects. Planned to become home to 1 million residents, this major development not only embodies the vision of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum but also reflects urban and societal themes in the Dubai Plan 2021.

In the heart of Dubai South lies the now operational Al Maktoum International Airport and the Expo 2020 site, and the surroundings are composed of residential and commercial projects.

Sustainability, happiness, and affordability are three core values that are ingrained in Dubai South, which features environmentally-conscious designs, greenhouses and farms, excellent roads, landmark buildings, and attractive recreational facilities. Dubai South will be a city designed and constructed in order to facilitate the individuals happiness and increase their quality of life as well as foster a vibrant economy. To increase accessibility within in the city, there will be a comprehensive and integrated road network as well as a rail system. This 145km aerotropolis is divided into six sub-developments: Residential District, Commercial District, Golf District, Logistics District, Aviation City, and Dubai Exhibition City.

  • Will employ around 150,000 people in eight zones:

Logistics City

  • Adjacent to the Al Maktoum International Airport
  • Enables fast-cycle logistics businesses to control inventory
  • Effective global supply chain hub for international markets
  • Directly linked to Jebel Ali Port via a dedicated logistics corridor and forms a single customs-bonded free zone spanning approximately 200 km
  • Businesses can access more than 6,400 registered companies and over 120 of the Fortune Global 500 enterprises registered within the zone

Exhibition City

  • Northern corner of Dubai South and site of Dubai Work Expo 2020
  • One of the most advanced stages for major exhibitions and events
  • Phase I: 300,000 m development offering 120,000 m of exhibition space at the centre of the 300 hectare landscaped site

Aviation City

  • Development of the worlds largest maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) zone
