Jumeirah Lakes Towers plays host to a multitude of ethnicities, cultures, races and tastes. It has become home to over 50 nationalities.
Due to the diversity found in this district, JLT features all kinds of dining and entertainment options that will cater to everyone. From the chic urban environment of Axe House, the lively atmosphere in Mythos, to the live jazz sessions at Pizza Express, there's always something to do. There's also a superb buffet that explores cuisines from all over the world hosted in the Movenpick Hotel. McGettingan's is a famous, fully licensed bar that showcases some of the biggest matches and sports tournaments.
Jumeirah Lakes Towers is home to four major hotels and serviced hotel-apartments. It is quickly developing into a district which is near landmark areas of Dubai, but still away from the hustle and bustle of the city. With two more hotels planned within the next two years, JLT looks to attract people who don't want to be in the centre of Marina, but still want the easy access of Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai Metro, and the rest of Dubai. Due to JLT's optimal location, this district has become very popular with commuters that use the two metro stations within the area.
One of the key highlights of Jumeirah Lakes Towers is that it features serene lakes, which provide a calm environment for visitors and residents. One of the lakes turned into a 55,000 square metre park, which allows green open spaces to enjoy for recreation, parties, sports, jogging, and even the ever-growing dog-walking community. Every third Thursday, a community market takes place on this new green area, allowing residents and visitors to meet & greet while browsing homemade crafts and second-hand items.
The completion of Saba Tower in December 2006 marked the first tower to be completed in Jumeirah Lakes Towers. The majority of construction took place in 2008. By April 2011, over 80 percent of the towers in JLT had been constructed. The final plot-purchase was completed late last year with DLD.
The dip in prices seen throughout Dubai did not affect JLT as compared to other areas. Sales prices dipped to an average of only 1.6%, while rentals saw a 3.8% drop, which is far below the average than anywhere else in Dubai. This has lead to a high investor confidence in this district.
Adding to this district are several, new luxury projects within Jumeirah Lakes Towers. Dubai Star Tower just recently completed the exterior phase of the building and are now working on their interior section, whereas, The Residences is a high-end project which will feature a five-star hotel, while the MAG Group are now constructing their new MBL Residences in their exclusive Cluster - K.
