Disadvantages of Living in Al Barsha

Now that we’ve highlighted the sunny side of living in Al Barsha, it is only fair to shed light on some of the disadvantages of residing in this neighborhood so you have a more rounded idea and can make an informed decision.

Non-freehold Area

This might be one of the biggest concerns for expats who are looking to own property in Al Barsha. As a non-freehold area, only GCC and UAE nationals can own property in this community; leaving the option of rent available to expats. Nevertheless, Al Barsha South is a freehold area.

Lack of parking spaces

Given its popularity and richness in amenities and attractions; sometimes finding a parking space during peak hours can be a daunting task. This constitutes an inconvenience to those who live in Al Barsha or visit it.

Traffic during rush hour

Living in a popular area, coveted by many, is always a double-edged sword. The people who reside there will need to commute to and from work which worsens rush hour traffic. To make matters worse, the roads are narrow; creating bottlenecks and congestion at certain points.

Lack of pubs and nightlife

As previously mentioned, Al Barsha is very family-friendly and as such, its attractions have been developed to cater to this aspect of its demographic. So, if you want to live in a community that has many bars and nightclubs, we do not recommend Al Barsha to you.

Comparison of Al Barsha with Other Communities Nearby

Al Barsha is a well-surrounded community with residential areas including JVC, Motor City, and Arabian Ranches close by, especially for those living in Al Barsha South. Palm Jumeirah is just across the highway towards the sea.

In comparison, Al Barsha is a wide area compared to other communities. It comprises both villas and apartments of various sizes, making it the ideal home for families and couples. Al Barsha is a bit closer to Downtown Dubai and the major locations within the city when compared to JVC or Palm Jumeirah.

Final Conclusion

Now that the major pros and cons of living in Al Barsha have been laid out in detail, we can come to the following conclusion. This community, located in the heart of the city, is ideal for families of locals and expats who work in Dubai. It has all the amenities and facilities one needs to enjoy an elevated and comfortable lifestyle, regardless of where in the world they come from. However, living in such a popular and well-equipped community comes with its challenges in terms of traffic and congestion.

While only UAE and GCC nationals can own property in most of Al Barsha, this community remains a great place to rent a home, especially for those who want to remain near the beating heart of the city and live in a calm environment.
